A little house organization...

So with my 2012 resolution to be more organized and overall less of a hot mess....I have spent the last 3 weeks making some minor changes around mi casa. Although at the moment I am dying to rearrange furniture in Quinn's room, I have come to realize that you can never have too many a) baskets b) shelves c) storage containers. Some pictures of my my new obsession.

Seriously, these have saved my life. I use them for EVERYTHING. My pantry is all labeled, I now know exactly what's in all of my Christmas storage, I probably have labeled the dog at some point. Amazing.

This is what happened this past weekend. I know, I am very cool. This is my baby's entire life in clothes! Going through all of them was just so emotional. I remember every outfit and can picture her in each one. Then I of course got mad at her for growing so damn fast. Excuse the crappy picture. I was squished between my dresser and the dog's crate that could fit a pony. Yes, it's in my bedroom.

Simple, right? Well it only took me about a year and a half to finally do it and now we have bar stools that no longer double as crap storage. It's right next to our back door so it's super easy to walk in and hang up your crap.

This is my everything. Obviously you can't tell that by our insanely busy month. Doctor's appointments, birthdays, you name it. Anything important goes on there, which helps me never forget, just not the husband.

These have saved my life. I hated having everything "on display, on display, on display". (Thank you RHONJ, please tell me I'm not the only one singing it?) These fit every single one of our DVD's, organized alphabetically, because obviously.

Don't judge me. I was watching 90210. I think I am the only person who watches it. That and One Tree Hill. Because I am a 15 year old girl.

I still have to work on:
  • the coat closet
  • the linen closet
  • the office
  • the guest room that we have permanently locked since this catastrophe
  • finish the basement aka get a dumpster so I can throw everything away
Baby steps, people. Baby steps.

  2. Hahah oh good! I didn't want to be the only one! I got them from Etsy! But then I discovered that you can buy chalkboard contact paper so I just trace the cute little shape and I have endless amounts of them!

  3. I'll have to look into getting some chalkboard paper. I got a Cricut for Christmas, so it'd be pretty easy to cut them out. I would totally be like you, and label everything I could find. :)
