Quinn's Big Girl Room Makeover

While I am still tweaking things in Baby #3's room, I thought I would share this husband loving-last minute project. (NOT) Quinn's room was the perfect baby room for her. I loved it. But as she got older it kind of became a hodge podge of baby things mixed with big kid things. And I finally had enough (you know, like a month before my due date with this baby) that I needed to change things up.

Being that the husband won't let a day go by in reminding me that we have a Kindergartener going into private school this year, my funds are limited. So going back and forth with ideas, lots of paint swatches later, I settled on this color palette. Which meant I could keep her curtains and bed spread and do some other cheap updates which would make a huge difference! That rose stencil is on my maybe list still because I seriously don't think I can stencil the entire upper walls in her room by myself without killing someone. So we might just do one wall or something along those lines.

Since we moved Quinn' furniture into the baby's room, we had to buy Quinn "big girl furniture". Since we are Ikea obsessed, we thought we would troll our local furniture stores and we ended up seriously hating everything. We are big "white furniture" people so we headed to Ikea and obviously found exactly what we wanted! The Hemnes. Passed all of the hubbies must haves, was made of solid wood and matched her bed perfectly.

So here is the before shot! This is (hopefully) the last weekend before baby #3 makes her debut, so we are finally painting, and doing a board and batten on the bottom of the chair rail because I obviously love my husband and he loves my never ending to do lists.

Hopefully I'll be able to share an after photo next week!
